Our Story
Geoffrey and Esra met in their freshman year at Rice University in 2007. Even though they were from separate colleges (Geoffrey from Martel College in North Campus, Esra from Will Rice College in South Campus) they often encountered each other throughout their four years of undergrad. After graduation in 2011, they slowly loss touch, seeing each other at various Rice Homecoming and Beer Bike events. In July of 2016, they hadn’t seen each other in three years when they met again at fellow Rice-alums Jacob Owolabi and Christa Clarke’s wedding. The only two single wedding guests, Geoffrey instantly turned on his charm and Esra was indeed smitten. Three weeks after Jacob and Christa's wedding, Esra started medical school at Texas A&M College of Medicine in College Station. The first several months of dating, Esra could not ignore the joy Geoffrey brought her through the challenging adjustment to medical school. After one year of long distance between College Station and Houston, Esra moved again to Dallas for her clinical coursework at Baylor University Medical Center. Geoffrey once again rose to the occasion, and due to Esra’s demanding hospital schedule, he made bimonthly trips to Dallas to see her.
Three years into dating, Geoffrey was ready to make things official and made a trip to Dallas. On August 29, 2019, Esra returned home from the hospital to a furry surprise! As soon as she walked in the door, her beloved cat, Chloe, ran up to her. There on her collar was the engagement ring, and needless to say Esra was completely shocked!
Geoffrey and Esra would like to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for joining them in celebrating their union. September 18, 2021, Third time's the charm!
